City Clerk

Laura S. Carmack

The office of the City Clerk serves to assist and support the Office of the Mayor and the City Council.  The City Clerk is the custodian of records, serves in all Human Resource capacities, and oversees daily operation of the administrative offices at city hall. Ms. Carmack also serves as the City's Treasurer and is responsible for all financial functions of the city.

Professional municipal designations:

  • Certified Municipal Clerk from the Alabama Association of Municipal Clerks and Administrators (AAMCA)  
  • Certified Municipal Revenue Officer from the Alabama Municipal Revenue Officers Association (AMROA)

Professional Organizations:

  • 2013-2014 President for the Alabama Association of Municipal Clerks and Administrators (AAMCA)
  • Member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks
