Fire/Rescue Department

I am proud to serve the citizens of Lincoln as your Fire Chief. The Lincoln Fire & Rescue started as a volunteer department providing fire protection for the citizens until 1976. During that year, the department became a full-time, paid staff department. Our ambulance service was added in the same year and remains the only ambulance service in the north end of the county. For chemical and hazardous material events, we have a fully equipped HAZ-MAT unit that can be deployed within the city or to neighboring communities to assist with these types of accidents.

I have been employed with the City of Lincoln since 1982.  The department currently employees 35 full-time fire fighters. Lincoln operates three fire stations within the city. The stations are staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We staff two sub-stations at the Honda Manufacturing of Alabama automotive plant located within the city limits. I believe continued education and training are important factors to having a department that can protect the lives and property of our citizens.

The department's organizational structure includes a Chief, a Deputy Chief, Three Captains and 7 Lieutenants in addition to our firefighters and paramedics.
