Talladega County EMA uses Nixle, Facebook and Twitter to post up-to-date information on weather, emergency preparedness, events, disasters, and etc.

Warnings/Notifications
Outdoor Warning Siren System
Talladega County has 88 sirens located throughout the County.
Siren Test:
Siren testing is part of normal maintenance. Talladega County EMA tests/activates all sirens in Talladega County at 4:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month.
If there is prediction of inclement weather, the sirens will not be tested. The make up day for siren test will be the same week but on Thursday at 10:00 AM if weather permits.
Talladega County EMA sends alerts and notifications via Nixle , Facebook and Twitter to inform the community of the siren test.
PLEASE NOTE: The sirens are an outdoor warning system only. They are not intended to be heard indoors. The main purpose of the sirens is to warn individuals that are outdoors to seek immediate shelter.
For severe weather warnings, outdoor warning siren are activated for Tornado Warnings.
Emergency Alert System (EAS)
The Emergency Alert System (EAS) is a system that provides immediate communications and information to the general public at the national, state, or local level during periods of national emergency.
The EAS mya be used by state and local governments to disseminate emergency information to the public in their area.
The following are local EAS radio and TV stations that work closely with the Talladega County EMA to keep you informed in the event of an emergency.
We suggest you keep a portable radio and batteries as part of your emergency supply kit.
