DISPLAYING YOUR ADDRESS
[Posted 8/29/2017]
DISPLAYING YOUR ADDRESS IS IMPORTANT:
When you call 911 for an emergency it is very important that your house or building number is visible.

Check to see if the numbers have become faded and are not as noticeable as before.  Here are some standards to help you when placing your address number:
  1. Address numbers should be 3 inches high and be easily seen from the road.
  2. A number should be placed on the front of every structure.
  3. Mailboxes should be marked with the structures address.  Where mailboxes are not in front of the house or structure to be marked, a number should be displayed on the structure, if it is visible from the road.
  4. If the structure is not visible and no mailbox is beside the driveway leading to the structure, a sign post should be erected to display the number.  This sign or number post could display the number either vertically(from the top) or horizontally(from the left).
When you call 911 your address shows on the screen but once we arrive at the road or street given if there is no address showing it prolongs our arrival to your house.  So it is very important to place or check the numbers on your home.  We have mobile home parks and we need everyone to help us locate homes, so place your numbers where they are visible using the standards above.

THANK YOU
FIRE CHIEF MIKE WESLEY
