Population 6,266 (2010 Census Data)
Lincoln has been a growing community. While our growth from 1990 to 2000 was significant, ranking us 28th in growth out of the approximately 450 Alabama municipalities we anticipate that our growth in the ten years of 2000 to 2010 will also be significant. With some 22 new subdivisions having been constructed in the last 10 years there are lots of new homes in the city. Why has our community grown? Well the answer to that is easy. We believe in developing the infrastructure of our community. Water and sewer are critical for growth. We have attempted to make water and sewer available to encourage growth. We encourage developers to take a non-traditional approach that we called Flexible Development, in which lot sizes may vary and streets may meander around without the square shape of older style developments. Subdivision approvals typically take less than 60 days unless there is a zoning change needed; and even then approval is likely to take less than 120 days.
