Office of The Mayor
PROCLAMATION

On behalf of the Members of the City Council and the Citizens of the City of Lincoln we are pleased to welcome Honda to Lincoln, Talladega County, and Alabama. We thank you for choosing our community and our state to construct your new automotive facility.

We wish to thank the cities and counties of Jefferson, St. Clair, Etowah, Calhoun, and Talladega County for your support of this project. To you our neighbors we stand humbled by your willingness to assist in a project not in your own community. The spirit of cooperation exhibited by your support reflects most favorably on the caliber of leadership and the quality of people of our great state. We certainly hope this project will be a blessing for your community as we hope for our own city.

We wish to thank the Governor and his staff, the Alabama Development Office, the Metropolitan Development Board, Alabama Power Company, and the Talladega County Economic Development Council for the many long hours and tremendous effort you have made in bringing this project to Alabama.

We wish to thank all the people who were willing to sell their land to make this project possible. In particular we thank the stockholders of T. J. Watson and Sons, Incorporated for their positive support.

We thank the Board of Education for their support and willingness to sell their land to make this project possible.

To the staff and management of Honda we say to you, thank you again for selecting our city to be your new home. We wish you the most success in your new home and thank you again for choosing our city as your new home.
