Mayor Carroll "Lew" Watson
The Mayor is the executive branch of the City and serves as the chief administrative officer who is responsible for the following:
- Managing and directing the City’s seven departments and a team of eighty-five plus employees
- Preparing and executing the budgets of the City
- Implementing policies and procedures of the Lincoln City Council
- Providing direction in absence of Council policy
- As an elected official, the Mayor is the chief presiding officer at all Council meetings who has the power of:
- A voting member of the Council
- Making policy recommendations to the Council
- Serving as the ambassador for the City both at home and in the national arena
- Appoints Planning and Zoning Commission members
